Yeah, both approaches can co-exist without creating a conflict. Any build at or higher than 4.2 will pick the TOML and any build below will pick bl_info. Adding the bl_info back is simple, I did some work to dereference the variable, and I’ll keep it that way so it’s just as easy to remove in the future.
This is obvious, but it’s good to know that target versions to support change as new versions come out. When Blender 4.4 releases, supporting prior versions will become less valuable and can increase the required effort to maintain significantly. While we shouldn’t tear down @roaoao’s compatibility code, it also doesn’t make a lot of sense to support every bug that crops up outside of target versions with bugs.
