Thank you for explaining the reasons for introducing it.
I understand that it may become the standard in the future.
However, since our original goal was simply to ensure compatibility with Blender 4.0 and above and to fix known issues, I’m feeling a bit perplexed. I apologize for not creating an opportunity to discuss this direction in advance.
To clarify my stance: I’m personally critical of Blender’s Extensions program, even before discussing whether PME should participate in it. If we start that conversation, I’d end up sending you one of my longest messages ever, which would be exhausting for both of us. So, could we please put that particular topic on hold for now? For the time being, I think it’s possible to have both bl_info and blender_manifest.toml coexist. It’s fine to use the TOML file as a base, but I’d prefer if we could avoid removing bl_info entirely, at least until we’ve had a proper discussion.
That said, I’m truly amazed by how quickly you work, and I’m very happy to have you on board!
Let’s continue the finer points of this conversation in the Discussions section—no one else was joining, and to be honest, I was feeling a bit lonely.
