I’ll also share my personal keymap management approach, though it’s not exactly something to brag about.
I use PME Macros to create what I call “Proxy Keymaps” — basically managing keymaps through PME itself. (This does add PME overhead, so for performance-critical operations I create custom add-ons instead.)
This minimizes direct edits to Blender’s keymap system, and when migrating environments, I only need to transfer PME settings.
When I absolutely must export keymaps (which I always try to avoid), I temporarily disable PME and other add-ons before running the export.
