As PME uses the Blender API, it is indeed subject to the GPL. I stand corrected.
However, please understand that the purpose of source code disclosure under the GPL is not “free distribution” but rather “transparency” and “technical sharing.” This distinction is crucial.
I owe my introduction to Python to PME and the work of roaoao, its creator.
Thus, the motivation behind my actions is always to provide value to PME and roaoao.
The goal of maintaining PME happens to align with the expectations of PME users and my personal objectives. I realize that this might be disappointing to some, but I feel it’s important to be honest about this.
Currently, I’m rushing to create a documentation page to better organize information and patches. I believe that completing this will lead to some degree of improvement in the current situation. Even if the improvements are not significant, laying a foundation for the next steps is essential.
After the discussions over the past few days, I now feel confident in the current work.
I deeply appreciate the valuable input from everyone. I will provide updates as soon as there is progress.
