It looks like an abandonware. Im personally will try to investigate the situation with developer to know for sure whats happen and what is the future of this addon.
Anyway, for me it looks like free chatGPT can easilly handle creation of custom PIEs, at least i have a positive expirience with creating some basics one + nested PIEs. Custom panels with some buttons, probably, will be more complicated task, but also (probably) solvable even for “non-programmer” people.
Obviously it wouldnt be “that” easy and comfortable as with PME, but you know, it would make the abondon of PME by developer not “that” catastrophe as it may look at a first glance.
