@Pluglug and others: I’ve never been able to set up my Tab hotkey the way I want, and now that I’m doing more work in modes where I need it, I want to fix this once and for all.
The idea is: tab always toggles between Object mode and one specific mode (usually Edit Mode). Holding Tab (‘Clickdrag’) will present a pie menu with all sub-modes of the selected object’s type. So for a Mesh Object it’s Edit, Sculpt, Paint, Vertex Paint etc… for an Armature it’s Edit and Pose.
I’m trying to use the Poll Method for this, but somehow there’s always a conflict. Does anyone have a setup for this that could work? You can check what I’ve set up so far in the json file below.
PeaMenus.json (413.4 KB)
keep in mind I want a single Tab press to work for all objects (Mesh, Lattice, Curve, Armature etc), and a long-press to pop up a pie menu specific to said object type.
This has been driving me crazy for ages, and I’d appreciate all the help I can get!
