I’ve successfully replicated it as well. I’ve conducted various tests but am currently unable to reproduce Zunio’s issue.
On the contrary, I was under the impression that the sidearea toggle was broken, so I was surprised. When was it fixed? (I remember that in the past the width wasn’t functioning correctly.)

Please execute TOPBAR>Window>Toggle System Console and check if any errors occur in the system console. Also, make sure that you haven’t made any unusual area splits (there’s a possibility that the area index is messed up. I’m not sure if PME uses the index.)
By the way, it’s definitely broken in versions 4.0 and later. I will investigate further.
