Hi, thanks for your support, roaoao and helping make it possible to make your own custom workflow in blender. I’m thinking about getting this add-on, but I have absolutely ZERO coding experience (I’m not even as advanced as the so-called “Noobs” in this thread), but I have some questions to make sure Blender can do what I want before I make the leap. I’ll try to number my questions so it is easier to read. Thanks very much for all the work you do.

I want to work with blender with ABSOLUTELY NO hotkeys. All of us seem to voice out our issues with blender’s reliance on hotkeys but I have a hard time finding add-ons that work independently of them, which is ironic in my opinion lol, but I feel your PME could help.

  1. Does PME support “Float Buttons”? Pie menus are great but you cannot work on your mesh while the menu is active. It requires you to make a choice or cancel the menu before working on the mesh. I know you can create pop-up panels, but it is hard to see if your mesh is behind the panel. I would like to have buttons that float around your mesh but are not in the way of your view. Maybe they appear just above/below the mesh or the origin point, or the normals of the object or where your mouse cursor is. I need buttons that can float on the screen that I can use while working that can appear and disappear on their own without me pressing a key to make them appear or disappear (making blender intuitive).

  2. Will these “Float Buttons” support different functions depending on how they are pressed or selected? For example: Left Click - Action 1, Right Click - Action 2, MMB - Action 3, LMB Drag - Action 4, RMB Drag - Action 5, LMB Double Click + Drag - Action 6, etc, all for a single button.

Maybe I want to click a button to put an object into the default Grab/Move mode, or drag the button to immediately grab it on a specific axis depending on your view, or move it while snapping to the grid, all within the same button (depending on how it is pressed/clicked).

  1. Can these “Float Buttons” be triggered by an Event and not a hotkey? For example, Float Buttons appear when the mesh is selected and disappear when mesh is deselected.

  2. Can you create your own tools in the left T/Tools panel and remap blender’s navigation when that tool is selected? For example, when a tool in the T Panel is selected, you can now move from edit mode to object mode (or vise versa) simply by long pressing (holding) Left click on a blank space on the screen. When you long press a mesh, it switches to edit mode and selects the face of the mesh you are pressing.

  3. Can you make custom widgets? I was thinking about making a widget that can Move, Scale, Rotate, but also have Bezier Handles to bend the mesh all in one widget. Is this possible?

  4. There is Vert/Edge/Face Select modes. Is it possible for me to add a 4th mode which allows you to select all 3 at once and add it to blender’s UI at the top left of the screen?

  5. Will your addon work for the BForArtists software (assuming you’ve heard of it)?

Sorry if these are difficult questions (I don’t know) but I have an idea how I want to work in blender but I am not a coder. I do think this add-on is a great add-on and I thank you for all your support! I believe this is one of, if not the best add-on available for blender, otherwise these questions probably wouldn’t exist. Thanks again.
